To be sure, this is interesting
I don’t know the history of this author nor do I have any information regarding her knowledge of Egyptian politics or anything of the matter (possibly because I’m at work and don’t have the time to research).
Her article is interesting never-the-less.
I find myself in agreement with many of the points she makes.

Egyptian Police Sexually Abuses Pro-Democracy Detainees
Ahmed El-Sharqawi and Karim El Sha’er, two recently released activists with Youth for Change, have been abducted and detained from Abdel Khaleq Tharwat Street in downtown Cairo by plain clothes security agents.
